A shorter-chain, more soluble xanthate used where faster kinetics and finer particle flotation are required.
SIPX is the sodium salt of isopropyl xanthic acid. Its shorter carbon chain gives higher water solubility and faster reaction kinetics than SIBX, at the cost of somewhat lower selectivity.
Applied in copper and zinc sulphide flotation, often blended with a longer-chain xanthate to broaden particle-size recovery.
Cool, dry, ventilated storage; away from strong acids and oxidising agents.
Flammable solid; SDS supplied with shipment. Full Safety Data Sheet (SDS) supplied with every consignment.
